Athena: FASHION OUTDOOR LIVE and ancient TEMPLE OF A GREAT BLEND
Athens is much, much more than the overcrowded tourist strip, traffic congestion and the Acropolis. Athens is also a bustling high - but still small and handy - metropolis, which we gladly travel to Airtours. We leave here for the pulse, people, food, sun, sand and sea, atmosphere and scents. The sense of the ancient Greek, relaxed life meets the latest international trends. In the middle of the junction, between history and future, are sunny Athens and is waiting for you. It offers both sun and the city on the same trip. What a weekend!
Although it may be the smog in the air in Athens during hot summer days, this is far from normal. Instead, states parties of the clear sky, the colorful flowers and the dry heat. Athens also offers entertainment enthusiasts, people, elegant boutiques, a passionate street life and small cafes with tables and chairs on the street. Most Greeks, especially young, speaks good English and are generally very helpful. Greeks love to debate and converse - like politics - and the Athenians are no exception. There is a future prime minister at each table at the city’s cafes.
ELEGANTA Kolonaki AND FASHION Psiri
Athens is really worth exploring - and we mean not only the Plaka below the Acropolis. Plaka is Athens’ old city, full of tourist shops and jewelery shops and more or less authentic Greek tavernas and ouzerier with bouzouki music. In Psiri are daytime fish and meat market, but at night turning the district into the trendiest Athens has to offer. You could call the Athens Psiri Soho. Here are both Greek and international clubs, bars, cafes and plenty of restaurants. Fridays and Saturdays, it is good traction here! In Kolonákis is an exciting range of stores, exclusive clothes shops and restaurants. Take a break from shopping. Sit at one of the cafés around the elegant Kolonákitorget and enjoy a islatte in the shade of an orange tree.
TAKE THE SUBWAY TO THE RIVIERA
It is easy and cheap to get around on their own, to get easily between the different districts and attractions. Try the new subway. Syntagma station is a must. It is both a hyper-modern subway and a beautiful museum in several floors. Cool, clean, quiet and no advertising anywhere. With the metro you can reach the sea and beaches at the Athens Riviera. The new subway goes straight track to Piraeus. During your City Weekend in Athens, you are just 20 minutes from some of the Mediterranean’s best beaches!
